The Weather in Terra Nil is made up of four constant conditions, Precipitation, and four varying conditions, some of which are shared with the Map. The four constant conditions are Sunlight (Sunlight.png), Wind, Tide, and Auroras. Precipitation is either Rainfall or Snowfall. The other four varying conditions are Humidity (Humid Icon.png), Radiation (Radiation.png), Temperature (Temp Icon.png), and Toxicity (Toxicity.png). In the beginning of each scenario, there is always 100% Sunlight.png, Wind, and Tide (when applicable) with no precipitation or auroras.

Constant Conditions

Sunlight

Sunlight is type of space weather. During gameplay, there is no day/night cycle and sunlight is constant. Sunlight allows the Solar Amplifier to emit a focused beam of light to ignite controlled burns which produce the Ash tile.

Wind

Wind is a type of atmospheric weather and a renewable power source (Power.png). During gameplay, wind speed does not change and is constant. The constant wind speed allows the Turbine to produce 6Power.pngsteadily.

Tide

Tide is a type of oceanic weather and a renewable power source (Power.png). During gameplay, tidal forces are constant which allow the Tidal Turbine to generate XPower.png steadily.

Auroras

Auroras are a type of space weather. In Terra Nil, Auroras are only available in the polar continent once Toxicity.png < 5% and are purely aesthetic.

Precipitation

Precipitation is divided into two types: Rainfall and Snowfall. Triggering either of the precipitation events is permanent and produces a mass remediation effect on all Wasteland and Polluted Ocean. Also, any Lava will be converted to Rock.

Rainfall

Location Humid Icon.png Temp Icon.png Radiation.png Remediated Produced
River Valley >70% N/A N/A Wasteland Ash Greenery

Desolate Island >99% >35°C N/A Wasteland Ash Polluted Ocean Greenery Ocean
Archipelago >99% >35°C N/A Wasteland Ash Polluted Ocean Greenery Ocean
Flooded City >85% >25°C <30cpm Wasteland Ash Polluted Ocean Greenery Ocean
Irradiated Sprawl >85% >25°C <30cpm Wasteland Ash Polluted Ocean Greenery Ocean

Snowfall

Polluted Fjord >40% <-5°C <20% Wasteland Ash Polluted Ocean Snow Ocean
